in the darkness that tosses and turns,
two allies in a battle of silence,
stalemate proving us wrong
where if I win I lose.

Too far away to touch you,
frozen pieces of the night
rising ‘round you like a wall
because perhaps for you

I survived off doubt;
What would I do with the truth?
Intimate enemy
I blame it on my love
I became a refugee
in this quiet war
where I win if I lose.

Drawn by a broken reflection
a glance of a girl long ago,
when unguarded I dream
longing for our song of spring
but we surrender to the winter;

now I'm afraid to touch you,
broken pieces of our life
