Alexander Coppedge - R.I.P.
2 Views • Jun 12, 2014
Description
Mounted iron chariots to battle a foe
Tossed from its nest rocks at them
Into night solid pit of unknowns
Flew flags on poles above them
Waving colored symbols in the breeze
As the people in the front wept and died
You are home a stranger to their needs
Each strike and drum rolls a cry
A loud boom and blast of light
Each soldier clash of metal a fight
Someone doom to claim others delights
Hailing surviving friends with glad sight
The victor who greet his home good night
Not having lived the terror or fright
Never saw the cruel acts not right
Sadly war isn’t this answer
To win the outcome of this joust
Or its end a conclusive good for all
A man final air gasps for life
That figure once held family to hope
Free from owed security but a loss
Delivered from responsibility
R.I.P. Good Night!
