Your deep gray eyes once held the meaning of life
and happiness.
Now they hold regret
and raw anger.
Your beautifully long dirty blond hair
has forgotten the feel
of my piano fingers.
Long and elegant,
But it is reversed.
My fingers
long to touch
your hair.
My pride
stands in the way.
I don't know how we got here but I
am not sure
not how to get back. It hurts
and I can't forget the scars that will
forever haunt me and be with me. They are
yours and not mine. Just my memories.
Don't come back and make me
forget what you did to me,
that which has not killed me yet.
No, don't plead, it makes me weak. but does it
matter to you?
What will become of us, you and/or I now?
I don't want to stay but can't go. Tell me,
say what you were thinking.
Or were you not? Just
don't lie to me and
say you weren't thinking.
Why?
Because I know you.
