Alex McCullough - Trapped Puppet

Becoming quiet like a silent day,
Almost makes me feel lonely,
But the fading memories which were like tattoos,
Makes my body goes numb.
Slam me into reality,
To wake me from this endless nightmare,
Though deep down inside,
I already know I'll just be waiting again.
Hearing this stinging truth,
Irritates the still time within me,
So much that the echoes which ring,
Never end.
Take ahold of my soul,
Not anything else of mine,
I don't know how to explain it,
But it's the only thing I can really grasp.
Why does it rain out here,
More than it does inside my heart,
Until I'm so lost within both,
That I can't reach the surface I long for.
My body feels like a doll,
Moving only to the strings of fate,
Keeping only you,
The puppetmaster entertained.
I could watch out this window of life,
For how many days or nights,
Trying with all my might,
To cause some sort of change,
But the only thing which might shift,
Is my shadow as it rocks to your beat.
