I cast a stone at the sky
hoping for some kind of sound
A phantom feeling answered me
rain on rainy ground
I cling to the water
like a drowning fly
looking for a tune
to lift and set me aside
there's a savage grace
in the missing melody
a poetry poured into
the emptiness of feeling
Still I awake in the small hours
happy in myself
the dawn's light is louder
than any song
I dreamt overnight
