Alex Daydream - Alienation

A writhing, contorted form
Half-human, half something other
Scaly and red and burnt with hellfire
This is my inside

A sunny, cheerful smile
Bright, sparkling eyes like jewels
Clean and joyed and living a life
This is my outside

Alienated
I wander alone through a midst of shadows
Piercing stares glare through
Only see my failing theatrics of enjoyment
Alienated
I blink back stinging tears hot in my eyes
Jeers and whispers slither round
Attempt to shatter my already broken heart
Alienated
I am so different from these others here
A distance is kept from me
Lest I should contaminate them with error
Alienated
I do not let them see how much it agonises
A hellfire rages inside
Held back from the cool, calm exterior
