Alec Sullivan - Final day

I can feel my final breath
Drawing closer.
I know my eyes are failing
And my heart heavy with the weight
Of all my days.
My limbs no longer listen
To my bidding.
I can sense the sun's light
And the soft glow of it setting.
I feel the need to slip
Beneath that shared horizon
To seek and find whatever
May be waiting there.
I wish to sink as it does
Into bronze faraway seas.
Gentle slide from final day
Without awakening.
