Description

As i gaze from my window,
Across the garden, beyond the meadow,
A flutter of wing catches my attention,
I stare across with apprehension,
As a blue tit dances in the air,
He lands upon my garden fence,
All though these creatures are not so rare,
I can’t help but get excited,
I truly am delighted,
They chose to nest as my neighbour,
Something i shall dearly savour,
The darling birds are hard at work,
Where out of the shadows predators lurk,
The magpie is pecking, the cats are prowling,
The parents watch from afar,
Anguishing over their young, wondering how they are,
The predators to the shadows return,
The birds no longer need concern,
The blue tits fly towards their nest,
Delivering fat caterpillar to feed their breast
The shrill of excitement can be heard,
The cats ears prick, and then he purred,
The cat was frustrated he could not get in,
To get to the feast that was within,
Hours go by and still they work,
Dutiful parents they never shirk,
The days and weeks go by,
Still the blue tits fly,
Tirelessly they fly, too & throw,
Then all at once i am a glow,
A head appears from the entrance so,
Observing a new world which abates,
As he patiently waits,
He plucks up the courage to take on flight,
Clumsy flight with open wing,
Heads towards the nearest tree,
Undignified he lands with glee,
Clinging on branch, how happy is he,
Brothers & sisters of half a dozen,
Shall soon be joined by their cousin,
An exploration of adventure shall await,
Only till next year shall i know their fate.
