Description

I am seen but unheard
Reticence is my policy
When I walk, there is the rustling of leaves beneath my feet
When I run, the howling of a wolf
When I sing, the music of golden chimes on porches
But these sounds are not mine
I am felt in the soul
Deep in the bones of wrinkled old men and women who sit silently in rocking chairs
They are the ones who know me best
I am the spirits of those long departed
I am careless feet crossing a grave
I am Mother Nature's ambassador
Whistling through her children's boughs
I am he who can be gentle and soft as a newborn hare
Or strong and vicious as a raging tiger
I am the destroyer of life and hope
I am bliss when the mercy of the mighty sun is wane
I am the mystery of nature
I am what tousles the hair of a brilliant young maiden
I am what takes the last breath of her dying mother
I am cruel and I am loving
I am he who cannot die
I am the essence of eternity
I will persist long after the last breath of life on earth is gone
This is the fate that I embrace
