Aimee Rozen - I'm Not Ok

I tried to block you out
out of sight
out of mind
out of everything we were,
that I am.
I wanted to pretend
that you weren't gone
that I never died
that blood still flowed
Instead of the ash
you've become.
I tried to hold on to you
but like fire it burned.
I wanted to remember
but I choked on the tears.
So instead I took an eraser to my life
and tried to wipe away the pain.

I just realized
I'm not ever going to be ok.
