Early this morning
You opened my door
And you came into my room.
And halfway between sleep and waking,
You kissed my cheek.
Awake enough to feel
The rough brush of your whiskers against my skin.
Asleep enough to not stir at your touch.
And I feel loved by you.
And that was the best gift I could get.
