After protests, Salman Rushdie's video link called off

Controversial writer Salman Rushdie's video conferencing at the Jaipur Literature Festival has been cancelled. According to reports, the Diggy palace owners cancelled the video link, during the day Muslim groups had protested against Rushdie's video conferencing. Rajasthan Literature Festival organizer Sanjay Roy said, we have been informed that people are inside the venue, sent to disrupt proceedings. The cancellation is unfortunate, but necessary to avoid violence, said Lit Fest organizers.
