I am Wolf, through blue nights and white storms
I am wolf, even before Genesis or Noah, or this new tribe you call people.
I am wolf, beautiful, unanswerable, under the moon of lapping sands and soft silver lurking in the dusk of fragrant crimson
I wander along the river and call out to my pups.
I am the wilderness of wild things and pick out of the wind and air the tracks of other tribes. what I see cannot be hidden or let go at will.
What I see laps against the salt blue tides at night and flows deep into the streams of our belonging.
When we circle or leap over it is because the wilderness says so.
