Activism Allowed At Amazon
Description
Amazon ($AMZN@US) settled with two former employees the National Labor Relations Board claimed were illegally fired for publicly speaking out about the company’s climate record and labor policies. The company will be required to pay Emily Cunningham and Maren Costa back wages in addition to posting a notice to all its tech and warehouse workers nationwide reiterating that Amazon can’t fire employees for organizing and exercising their rights. It was not disclosed how much Amazon would pay in back wages. The settlement was announced at a virtual hearing.
