Achill Ladd - Sweet Sorrow.
0 Views • Oct 29, 2014
Description
In the merry month of May.
It's silvery beams on the rippling stream,
And the smell of new mown hay.
'Twas my delight to walk that night,
Alone with just the thought
Of times I spent in deep lament,
And the solitude it brought.
Now the pain has eased, and I'm so pleased,
To welcome anew a fresh tomorrow.
I'm on my own, because i have known
The flavour of deep sorrow.
Sorrow has the most bitter taste,
Hearts wrenched apart is such a waste.
But sorrow gave me the inner strength
To keep emotions at arms length.
Of all my many memories,
It's the happiest I borrow.
They wash the bitterness away
And leave a softer, sweeter sorrow.
