Achill Ladd - Spring.
0 Views • Oct 29, 2014
Description
Sweeping Winter's woes away.
The sun beefs up to warm the soil,
Welcoming seedlings as they uncoil.
Latent energy awakes, from Winter's sleep,
Fresh growth from seeds hidden deep.
The hawthorn blossoms resplendently,
With flamboyant snow white purity.
Babies are born on sweet green lush.
Fresh grass improves the mother's flush
Of milk, from udders taut to bursting.
A welcome to her new born's thirsting.
Mother hen flaps around her busy brood,
Teaching then how to scratch for food,
And what to eat that they may thrive.
All object lessons to stay alive.
Fox cubs peep at a bright new world
From the jaws of their dark, dank den.
The great expanse of green and blue
Scares them back to earth again.
The sun's warmth brings out young lovers,
To tread paths their forbears trod.
We're all slaves to nature's cycle.
Now that's an act of God.
