Lorsque l'adolescente Yi rencontre un jeune Yéti sur le toit de son immeuble à Shanghai, elle et ses amis espiègles, Jin et Peng, le nomment "Everest". Ils entreprennent alors une quête héroïque pour réunir cette créature magique avec sa famille. Mais le trio d'amis devra garder une longueur d'avance sur Burnish, un homme riche désireux de capturer le Yéti, et sur la zoologiste Dr. Zara pour aider Everest à rentrer chez lui.
