Abigail Pastor - My Dandy Lines

My dandy lines grow fair and bright
With some space and a shot of light
My cheerful field yields joy and pleasure
One man's nuisance transformed into treasure

Glorious and golden they give
Words to me, bold and allusive
A tapestry of rich yellow ink
I stand, I gaze, I breathe, and then I sink

Pleasantly their tiny seeds fly
Ideas float up and multiply
Let my neighbors looks down their noses
I prefer weeds to their thorny roses
