Accept mine too Oh God!
Though I know it is not enough,
For this is all
that my praise-filled mouth
and my sinful pen can offer
that no mortal can ever clean.

Many prophet have your name testified,
Many hymnists to your name sung,
While many famous poets,
With their mellifluous rhymes
And heartbreaking beats,
Have composed sweet sonnets for you.

But me, so distant from you,
Voice, as sweet as to annoy you,
And my pen, sinful as my self,
Have nothing, but this short piece
which contains my heart and soul.

And so Lord,
Accept mine too,
Though I know it is not enough.
