Description

Oh dark and moonlit skies, Hear you not my mournful cries?
Oh swaying trees and flowing streams, Heed you not my heartfelt screams?

Oh blowing wind and twinkling stars, Heal you now my heart's fresh scars
Oh wet grass, slicked with rain, Wash away my aching pain

Oh cemetery gates, Death's holding cell, Save me now from this living Hell

Oh silent tomb, built upon death, Absent of life, absent of breath
I lie here now alone at your door, To serenade my lost love once more

My love with gold and shimmering hair, My love with a face so gentle, so fair
My love with beauty like the clear summer skies, My love with those dazzling radiant eyes

My heart, it aches without her delicate touch, My hand, it's lonely without her soft clutch
My eyes are blind without her beautiful gliss, My lips do tremble without her tender kiss

She was the one, the girl of my dreams, As beautiful as sunlight reflecting off flowing streams
But now she is gone, and my heart is now dead, That empty feeling inside causing depression and dread

I long for her to come and wipe away my tears, And have us be together for the next hundred years
Until then, I'll come back to this very door, To deliver to my love.. a cemetery serenade once more
