Aaron Hernandez's CTE was more severe than expected

Dr. Ann McKee , Boston University Neuropathologist Ann McKee and her team examined the brain of former NFL player Aaron Hernandez, who was revealed to have been living with stage 3 CTE. McKee noted the damage to his brain was that of someone 20 years older than he was, but she did not want to make definitive correlations to the disorder and his behavior. Hernandez's family is pursuing legal action against the NFL for allegedly hiding their knowledge of Hernandez's CTE.
