The ballads of love and freedom are muted by the owl hoots,
The chirping birds are frightened by the marching jackboots.

I live in a valley where....

A mother stares endlessly to a frozen nothingness,
Longing for that lost embrace, waiting for that last hug.

I live in a valley where....

A father longs for his son's sepulchre,
Where are you my groom? Who will tow our boat?

I live in a valley where....

A tiny stone is answered by a fatal bullet,
Treachery and deception has ruled for years.

But you can hear a raising voice everywhere,
We will not bow down, we will not bow down.

From the heaps of cadavers and the pools of blood,
We will not bow down, we will not bow down.
