A wedding after the bombing

A wedding at a refugee camp in Jordan.

As the conflict in Syria drags on two refugees, who had been engaged for a year, decide to marry at a refugee camp.

The couple had run out of options.

SOUNDBITE (Arabic) GROOM HUTHAIFA HAREERI SAYING:

"The situation there is bombardment, you know, the army attacks us. The bombardment has left us no space to get married, so we came here."

While it was a time for celebration, it was also a time for reflection

SOUNDBITE (Arabic) GROOM HUTHAIFA HAREERI, SAYING:

"Well, our happiness is not complete, because I still have family in Syria. Some family members are here and some are there. It is not full happiness."

The United Nations says that more than 235,000 Syrians have fled the violence at home seeking shelter in neighboring countries.
