A Story for Chloe

In this heartfelt story, I share the moment that inspired me to become a children's book author. One afternoon, while picking up my daughter Chloe from school, she innocently asked me, “Mommy, can you dye my hair blonde?” Her big brown eyes and simple question broke my heart, but it also led me to show her—and others—that beauty comes in all shades, shapes, and textures.

Join me as I recount how Chloe's experience of feeling different from her friends helped me discover my true purpose. I couldn't find stories that reflected her or our family, so I wrote one just for her. "A Story for Chloe" is about embracing one's unique beauty and the importance of representation in children's books. This is how I, Luz Maria Mack, began my journey as an author.
