See the chopping off of the legs and taking off the ribs of a pig by the Apatani tribal people of Arunachal Pradesh, India. After this, they dry out the meat and cut it into pieces and often even dry it for future use. Dried pork is considered a delicacy in Ziro Village in Arunachal. The dried pork meat can later be used for daily food preparations as well as consumed on special occasions. Like Asterix and Obelix's boar's tripe with aurochs dripping, these people love their pork chops too!

Pork forms an integral part of the Apatani diet, and the older the pork the better, as many families preserve vintage pork, not only for future consumption but as a sort of currency for gifting at important festivals such as Myoko in spring in Ziro village Arunachal Pradesh

Ziro is the district headquarter of Lower Subansiri district and is one of the oldest towns in Arunachal Pradesh.
