God’s Mask And Mine

If I were a wise man
I could distinguish with-
out wealth between a con-
descending love and the
condescension of Christ.

I pray that I might start
and end this journey own-
ing my cynical heart
toward humanity and
let stark humility

Awake me to the great
necessity of my
mortality and the
quintessence of His face -
divinity itself.
