A long goodbye

This is a story of a woman named Eleanor living in Paris during World War II. As the war ravages her life she finds herself increasingly isolated and burdened by the silence of her husband Paul who has returned from the battlefield changed. During the war Eleanor had found purpose in volunteer work gaining a sense of fulfillment she had never known as a housewife. Yet with the end of the war she feels trapped in her old life and the emotional distance between her and Paul grows. Struggling with the weight of this silence and her own inner transformation Eleanor makes a difficult decision.
