She calculated the Free-fall Speed for 1355, the average height (or Distance) of the Towers. Distance she said is a variable, therefore, you may plug in any given figure, such as the height of your building you want ‘pulled’ and the formula generates the Free-fall Speed or Time. Gravity is a constant at 32 but Time² (squared) varies with Distance.

With her little Casio, she first calculates Time² [2 x Distance ÷ Gravity]

∴ Time² = 2 x 1355 ÷ 32
∴ Time² = 84.69
∴ Time = √ 84.69 (square-root of 84.69)
∴ Time (or Free-fall Speed) = 9.2

I learnt from Nallini, a schoolgirl physics buff, that Free-fall Speed for a height of 1355 feet is 9.2 seconds.
