Description
From Austria is "Amour" -- a love story depicting the struggles of a husband taking care of his wife of 60 years in the final days of her life.
The Norwegian entry is "Kon-Tiki" -- the story about an anthropologist who sets sail from Peru to Polynesia to prove his theory dismissed by his peers - that native Polynesians originally came from the Americas rather than Asia.
"No" tells the story of a Chilean advertising executive recruited by the opponents of dictator Augusto Pinochet.
His job is to create a TV ad that will persuade people to vote against a referendum supporting his regime.
It's based on real events that happened in Chile in 1988.
Denmak's "A Royal Affair" is also based on historic events and is set in 1768 when the queen of Denmark falls in love with the doctor of her mentally unstable husband King Christian VII. Together they work to reform Danish society.
Finally from Canada is "War Witch".
The film follows the journey of a 12-year-old girl in a war-torn central African nation, who is forced to fight as a child soldier.
The Oscar winners will be revealed on February 24th during the live telecast of the 85th annual ceremony.
