7Shadows Teed - Death and Me

Death follows me everywhere I go.
He haunts me like a ghost trying to find its way home.
He follows me like a shadow.
Everywhere I look I see death.

Why he follows me I don't know but he does.
But is not as bad as people think.
Death is my best friend.
He has protected me from what hurts me.

As best of friends as we might be I still wonder why he follows me.
Trying to understand him is like trying to understand the world.
So I guess I’ll never know.
Knowing he is there though comforts me when I feel alone.

All it takes is a simple tap not the shoulder for me to remember that he is there.
We don't talk to one another, not like we can.
Still just to feel him there is all it takes to calm a soul like mine.
