Northernmost Fishing Ground in East Sea Opens for 2015
On April 10th, the Jeodo Island fishing ground located in the northernmost waters of the East Sea opened for the year’s fishing season. The Jeodo Island fishing ground is located 1.8km from the Northern Limit Line, and is 14.6㎢ wide, making it five times the size of Yeouido in Seoul.
The Jeodo Island fishing ground is open only from April to December each year. We follow fisherman on their first voyages of the year and speak to the coast guard officers who protect them.

Keeping Up With Rise in Individual Chinese Travelers
Korea's tourism revenue for 2014 was a record-breaking $18.1 Bil. The increase in revenue is driven by the continued growth of Chinese tourists to Korea. In the past, Chinese tourists used to come for shopping and in guided tour groups. These days, independent travellers seeking to experience Korean culture are rapidly increasing. This has led to a corresponding change in Korean tourism. For example, in Myeongdong, which sees the largest number of Chinese tourists, a chicken and beer street has been created. Then there are more and more companies developing Chinese language tourism information apps to cater to the mobile generation of Chinese tourists. Meanwhile, Guesthouses, which cater to independent travellers seeking affordable accommodations, are enjoying the boom.
