3D-Printed Livers Help Doctors Prepare For Surgery
Description
by Anthony Falco
Neon colors can save lives. That’s thanks to researchers in Poland, who created a colorful 3D-printed liver to help doctors prepare for tumor surgery. Made of polylactic acid and silicone, the liver is printed using a patient’s CT scan. Its casing is transparent, with different colors indicating the tumor, blood vessels, and other parts of the liver. The creators hope that practicing with this model could reduce surgery and recovery time. The post 3D-Printed Livers Help Doctors Prepare For Surgery appeared first on Vocativ.
