2026 Honda Prelude Design Preview

To demonstrate this unique philosophy—and to celebrate the first Prelude deliveries in Europe—Honda has now launched a real glider using the new sports coupe. With its efficient and responsive 184-hp e:HEV powertrain, the Prelude effortlessly towed the glider into the air—requiring only a specially adapted tow bar. To demonstrate this unique philosophy—and to celebrate the first Prelude deliveries in Europe—Honda has now launched a real glider using the new sports coupe. The inspiration for the "Unlimited Glide" concept, which was central to the development of the new Prelude, came from project manager Tomoyuki Yamagami: In the early development phase, he was motivated by happy childhood memories of flying a remote-controlled glider built by his grandfather. This experience sparked a lifelong passion for this graceful form of flying and had a decisive influence on the design and technology of the new Prelude.
