pontiac is a brand of several iconic American muscle cars. One of these vehicles is the famous Pontiac GTO, an attractive and sporty model that got trampled by the sales of the Camaro at the time. For that reason, the model was discontinued as General Motors didn’t really want to have so much competition between two vehicles of their own. During the 2000s, the model made a brief reappearance, but under a different name and a symbol. It became the Holden Monaro. However, it vanished faster than it reappeared, and there were no more mid-range muscle cars to be had, at least not from GM. On the lower end, there was the Camaro, and the all-powerful Corvette was a real high-end muscle car legend.

A very odd design of the exterior and an unconventional body shape are considered to be responsible for this lack of success of the original Pontiac GTO. There is a lot of competition at the moment, with much better design languages, with more loyal fans and with unmatchable performances. Because of these highly relevant reasons, Pontiac GTO is just a rumor at the moment. If GM decides that a new Pontiac is plausible, they will go for it. But the old design will have to go. So, we expect to see a whole redesign of both the exterior and the interior. Everything will change, including headlights, taillights, bumpers, grille and even those iconic GTO fog lights. How much, we cannot yet tell. But what we can predict is an Alpha rear-wheel modular platform.

The interior of the car will have to change just as much. It is definitely going to have to be more comfortable and elegant. The interior must reflect the sporty nature of the vehicle and become more luxurious at the same time.
