2014 Neighborhood Awards

*Marking the 12th year of this celebrity laden event and the inaugural year of it being held in Atlanta, GA, the 2014 "Neighborhood Awards" hosted by Steve Harvey, did not fail to impress when it came to the blue carpet stroll this year.

An excited crowd gathered outside of Phillips Arena on August 9th just to catch a glimpse of all the celebrities walking the carpet, many of whom were category presenters or entertainers for the evening.

With performances by artists such as Chrisette Michele, Anthony Hamilton, and Neyo, the awards show's intent and purpose is to honor local businesses, schools, and outstanding people who have made an impact in African American communities throughout the nation. These are the dedicated persons, small businesses, and schools which may otherwise be overlooked in this 'mainstream, big box, easily recognizable brand name franchised society' that we live in.
