2004 All Waits Creation

All Waits Creation, written by Mark Fielding Darden in December 2004

I had the music for this song before I had the words, but I knew it was going to be a Christmas song. So, I wrote down all the “Christmas” words I could think of and began putting phrases together. All Waits Creation was the result.

The church in the video is the John Penn Church of historical record, located on Highway 15-N in Stovall NC. That church was the view from our backyard for a decade.

Thanks to Milton Gore who played a very lovely bass on this, as well as Kristin Kanady who sang her usual, beautiful soprano parts. I played guitar and sang, and added the other percussion and frills. I also played the lead guitar in the song. I wanted it to sound like a horn and it almost does.

The song was written back in 2004 but I did not record it until 2020, and I finally created the video about that time as well. I have since re-done the video to include the lyrics.
