My son, Zach, was looking for snakes around the old pond in the dense woods behind his house the other night when his flashlight completely died. It was a very dark night. He was about to panic when a voice said, “You don’t need faith when the flashlight is working, son.”

Zach had no trouble finding his way from the dark, snakey pond back to his safe porch that night… without the flashlight. God is so good.

This song appeared on my first CD “In My Father’s House” and is a song about God being there in the darkest of times. And he has been. Even when I had walked away from him for 15 years or so. Even when I didn’t know he was there. He was. He is. He will be.
