1 Meter Foam Puzzle Mat Installation Instructions

1x1 meter interlocking foam floor mats are simple to install. For wall-to-wall installations, you'll need a sharp utility knife, straight edge and a tape measure. Begin in a corner and leave a ¼ inch gap for tile expansion. Look for the spade-shaped corner and make sure the spades on each mat are pointing in the same direction. Push the interlocking puzzle-style tiles together until you can no longer fit a full tile.

Measure the distance remaining between the mats and your other walls. Mark that distance on the tiles you wish to cut.

Using a straight edge as a guide, cut most of the way through the mat. Pick it up and fold it back at the cut. Finish the cut from the opposite side, allowing the knife to follow the crease from the inside of the fold.
Lay down the cut mats to finish the job.

Most 1x1 meter interlocking foam mats come with border strips that can be used along walls or anywhere else that needs a finished edge, including island installations.
