According to her husband, Barbara was a real busybody. She just couldn’t mind her own business. One of her New Year’s resolutions was to resist being nosy. One day while they were taking a stroll, they passed by a building site with a wooden fence around it. They could hear a group of people on the other side of the fence chanting “Thirteen, thirteen, thirteen”, over and over again. Barbara desperately wanted to take a peek but managed not to give in to her temptation. “What on Earth could be going on in there?” she wondered aloud. “I have no idea,” said the husband. “But I’m going to find out” The fence was to high to see over, but he found a knothole in the fence that he could look through. As he put his eye up to the hole, a finger poked him in the eye. As he pulled back, the people behind the fence started chanting “Fourteen, fourteen, fourteen” That’s all for now. See you next time”
