007 is back, Rihanna cancels again

007 is back. Daniel Craig will return as British secret agent James Bond in "Skyfall," the latest installment in one of the world's longest-running and most successful film franchises. Craig and director Sam Mendes were with the rest of the cast at a news conference in London announcing the picture. The 23rd Bond film will star Javier Bardem as the villain and Judi Dench returns as Bond's stern boss "M" in a cast that will also include Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, French actress Berenice Marlohe and Britain's Naomie Harris. "Skyfall" is slated to hit British theatres on Oct. 26, 2012 and U.S. cinemas on Nov. 9.
Rihanna has been forced to cancel a show in Sweden due to exhaustion for a second time this week. A Live Nation spokesman said the singer felt ill ahead of her concert in Stockholm on Wednesday night (November 2) and that she decided to cancel the show about an hour before she was to go on stage. The singer called off a show Monday, but was able to perform the following night. Organizers are trying to arrange new dates for the shows.
Closing arguments in the involuntary manslaughter case against Dr. Conrad Murray trial were presented on Thursday (November 3). The jury of seven men and five women heard from prosecutors and defense attorneys who summarized their respective cases after 22 days of testimony. Murray has pleaded not guilty and could be sentenced to up to 4 years in prison if convicted.
