000 Introduction to EngPods

Hi everyone, this is Michael and welcome to Engpods. Engpods is a project that will offer a series of short videos mostly tailored to Italian speakers who wish to improve their level of English. But anyone who wishes to improve their skills in English can benefit from EngPods. And for those of you interested in honing your Italian skills, EngPods might be just the ticket.These videos will mostly focus on typical English idiomatic expressions. The videos will also concern vocabulary, phrasal verbs, and even jokes. But we'll periodically touch on some of the basics. Access to EngPods is free. You can see the videos on our website engpods.com, on our YouTube channel, and soon on other videosharing platforms. You'll also be able to download them to your iPhone, iPod, and other portable media players. We'll keep you up to date. The videos will be of various levels, subjects, and duration. The first part of each video will be spoken in English, and the second part in Italian. Subtitles are available both in Italian and in English. In addition, you'll have access to the complete, downloadable texts in both languages. One thing that I strongly suggest is to watch the videos multiple times to help you to habituate your ears to what is said. It's also very useful to review the videos over time. It's my hope that this project will be helpful to you on many levels. And before I go, I'd like to say that it takes courage and perseverance to learn a language.
