0 (Zero) ... - Lost

In the dark I walked alone, toward the only light.
Ice chilling me to my bones, I called out to my knight.

The knight who promised to stand by my side, the knight who I had loved.
He had promised that anytime I called, he come and wrap me in a hug.

I called and called, still walking forward, but my knight never did come.
I really, truly was alone, I realised as my legs went numb.

I fell to the ground, the light nowhere near,
I can still remember the hours I spent, shuddering in fear.

Then, as quickly as a lightning strike, my heart stopped it's beating.
My breath would no longer come, my senses faded, my thoughts were fleeting.

But the last thing I could remember, was a vision of what waited at the light.
There was my knight, calling out to me, calling into the night.
